First full day in Asuncion

We woke up around 11 am today and felt pretty rested. The people are very laid back we missed breakfast at the hotel but they made us breakfast at 1pm. We walked to the bus terminal and exchanged our cash for some local guarani (money). We bought some chipa (cornbread like stuff that can have meat and cheese in it) and some bottled water. They say the water is okay to drink but we bought some 2 liter bottles anyways. And we will for sure need those down in San Cosme. As we walked the VERY busy streets of Asuncion, we saw chickens and stray dogs everywhere begging for food and lots of buses and motorcycles. We even saw some people with small babies and children on the motorcycles. What I really loved to see was this horse drawn carriage, vividly painted and hauling ass down the rocky roads with two silver Mercedes Benz symbols on the back of the carriage. People here are so poor, its really kind of shocking at first because it is literally all around you. So later we had a late lunch at 4pm then met the Leatherwood's in their very retro mystery machine!! We went to a nice supermarket and bought a few things. Then headed down the crazy streets to a nice Japanese restaurant. Last stop of the day was the farmacia (pharmacy). Okay, so these pictures we have from today are a few of us in the restaurant in our hotel. The front of our hotel ( notice the bumpy, rocky roads) and the hilarious Mercedes Benz horse carriage in front of our hotel (cant see the symbols though). Tomorrow we are going sightseeing in this town. Checking out the crafts and such. Man, I'm ready to drink some terrere! Everyone has a HUGE thermoses they carry around with them. Keep checking back guys, were making a trip to Iguazu Falls!!! It's going to be awesome!!    Love you all, Miss Crissy
